No Chuck Schumer this week but the three other horsemen of comprehensive immigration reform — McCain, Graham, and Dick Durbin — will all make the rounds on behalf of earned amnesty. Maverick might be worth watching for once, not for his thoughts on the path to citizenship but for his thoughts on where things stand with Hagel’s nomination. If he changes his mind on an up-or-down vote and calls for a filibuster, that could be it. And privately, Democrats will shed no tears.

The other spotlight this morning is on Rand Paul, who’ll elaborate on the containment strategy outlined in his foreign-policy speech this week and try to explain how his tea-party SOTU rebuttal will differ in any significant way from Rubio’s. The line-up via National Journal:
